International Women’s Day was celebrated at Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. on 6th March 2024. Dr. Chidatmika Khatua, Social Enterpreneur, Educationist and CEO, Sushruta Hospital graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Sri Subash Chandra Jena, Director (HR) of OHPC was present during the inaugural session of the programme and addressed the gathering. Sri Jena gave the inaugural address and emphasized on the empowerment of women and gave real life examples of Women in powerful positions around the world. He further emphasized that women are born powerful, empowered. Hence, no need of empowering them. Dr. Khatua while speaking on the occasion, highlighted the fact that women have an inner Kasturi fragrance. i.e power in them and they have to realize its importance. Women are there to spread happiness and positivity. She also talked about her journey throughout the years in tribal development and health sector. The vote of thanks of the inaugural programme was presented by Ms. Smruti Sudha Panda, Manager (PR). On the occasion of the Women’s Day celebrations, a workshop was organised in association with Dr. Ashok Kumar Mangaraj, Director of BRAINSTAIN. Dr. Mangaraj carried out session on women empowerment and also focused on achieving emotional stability for women. The next session was by Ms. Laxmi Priya Senapati, an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant. Ms. Senapati gave inputs on Nutrition and Eyecare with respect to Women. All the female employees of the Corporate Office were present during the programme & enthusiastically participated in the same. Gifts were distributed to all the participants at the end of the event.
